“Theater, unlike film, is known for revealing the seams of illusion. This production, designed by Justin Lahue, takes that idea to an extreme. The play opens on a brightly lit and nearly empty stage. We’re in the interior of the Loman household in Brooklyn, but there is no furniture except for one nondescript table. White light exposes every imperfection of the whitewashed walls. The setting provides little comfort to either the characters or the audience.” - The Provincetown Independent
“founding member and director Bob Kropf, along with scenic designer Justin Lahue, drive the bleakness home from the very start, with a too-bright black-and-white set (no compromises here!) and nothing but a table on the stage.” - Ptownie.com
“creative solutions were in full effect to bring Willy Loman’s dynamic and complex narrative to life: using stage walls to project prerecorded actors into scenes; props as multi-purpose instruments to guide the story along; as well as voice-overs to give audiences a window into the tortured protagonists distorted reality.” - Provincetownmagazine.com
